Nonstandard Neutrino Interactions as a Solution to the <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>NO</mml:mi><mml:mi>?</mml:mi><mml:mi mathvariant="normal">A</mml:mi></mml:math> and T2K Discrepancy

The latest data of the two long-baseline accelerator experiments NO$\nu$A and T2K, interpreted in standard 3-flavor scenario, display a discrepancy. A mismatch determination CP-phase $\delta_{\mathrm {CP}}$ extracted by is evident normal neutrino mass ordering. While prefers values close to {CP}} \sim 0.8 \pi$, T2K identifies 1.4 \pi$. Such estimates are disagreement at more than 90$\%$ C.L. for 2 degrees freedom. We show that such tension can be resolved if one hypothesizes existence complex neutral-current non-standard interactions (NSI) flavor changing type involving $e-\mu$ or $e-\tau$ sectors with couplings $|\varepsilon_{e\mu}| |\varepsilon_{e\tau}|\sim 0.2$. Remarkably, presence NSI, both point towards same common value 3\pi/2$. Our analysis also highlights an intriguing preference maximal CP-violation sector NSI CP-phases having best fit $\phi_{e\mu} \phi_{e\tau}\sim 3\pi/2$, hence pointing imaginary couplings.

A special type of Hamamatsu MPPC, with a sensitive area of 1.3×1.3 mm containing 667 pixels with 50×50 μm each, has been developed for the near neutrino detector in the T2K long baseline neutrino experiment.
